The team is making fast work of the first phase of our project, which involves the creation of graphics for the approximately 1,000 hieroglyphics in Budge’s Egyptian dictionary. Progress has so far exceeded our expectations. Here’s a quick update on where we’re at:
- Definitions have been entered for 100% of the glyphs
- Graphics have been created and uploaded for approximately 60% of the glyphs
- Glyph classification is underway and is currently at a 40% completion point.
We expect that we’ll finish with glyph image creation and classification by mid-June. At that point, our graphics and data entry team will switch to defining glyph groups and adding real-world photo samples of glyphs to our database. Our dev team will be in full swing with image analysis projects to allow us to move on to our final stages before we complete the automatic decoding process.
